Actor Ansh Bagri never really wanted to be part of the TV industry. The actor, who has done over 100 commercials as well been part of the film Days of Tafree and is now part of a TV show called Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji, says that he was never fond of the medium. “I always do content-driven things and I used to always think that TV is a very boring medium to be part of. I felt that every day you had to do the same thing. I used to feel that I won’t be able to do it. That’s the reason why I never wanted to do TV because it has the same character and same look every day,” he says.
He adds, “But eventually when I did India’s Next Superstar, it was an acting, dance and performance-based show. After doing that, I saw that you get so much love after doing TV and as an actor you get to do so many things. I got that clarity from there. The other reason to take up TV was when this show was offered, I felt like the character is not a typical TV character. There are a lot of challenges for my character, Rocky in the show. Our production house, 4 Lions are known to give good content and they are very particular about their characters.”
However, does that mean that films will take a backseat in his career? “Right now, I just want to concentrate on Dil Toh Happy Hai Ji. I am improving every day as an actor and I am getting to show my talent. I am getting whatever I want to as an actor, I want to work and I am working, I want attention from my fans and I am getting that. I want appreciation and I am getting that as well, so it doesn’t matter whether I am part of a film or a TV show,” he says.
While attending parties and events seem to be the usual for anyone part of showbiz, such is not the case for actor Moon Banerrjee currently seen in the TV soap Muskaan. The actor says that she finds it rather tiresome to attend these get-togethers. “I’m labeled as an extremely antisocial person amongst my friends. I feel a certain kind of pressure as it takes too much effort to attend events and parties. House parties work the best for me. For me, a bunch of close-knit people like friends and family is good enough for chilling,” she says.
She has a few close friends from the industry who she likes to hang out with. “I don’t have many friends but a few from the TV industry like Chitrashi Rawat, Sayantani Ghosh, and Delnaaz Irani are my close friends,” she says.
Actor Abhishek Tewari is thrilled to be part of the Laal Ishq. The actor says that he loves the concept as well as his character. “Laal Ishq is a very intriguing show based on the atrocities of love. It also it has a supernatural essence to it. My character is positive. It’s a very twisted love story with lots of thrilling turns,” he says.
In fact, the show is very different from the rest of the projects that he has been part of. “My forte has always been romance. So, this was a totally different love story as the adventure of shooting a supernatural series has always been a fascination for me. I am thoroughly enjoying it,” he says.
He adds, “A unique storyline in any show makes a huge difference as it provides a multiple range for an actor to perform and utilize his potential to the optimum level. And it’s more entertaining for the audience as well. This is exactly how Laal Ishq is.”
In fact, the actor found the story interesting right from the first time he heard it. “I immediately said yes. I always believe the story is the real hero and I always crave for a well-written story. And this one had so many twists and thrilling turns. It just got me hooked,” he says.
Abhishek loves the title of the show as well. “To me, ‘Laal Ishq’ strikes as both the celebration of love and the bloody, dark side of love,” he says.
