Actor Jiten Lalwani, who is part of Sonali and Amir Jaffer’s (Full House Media) Papa By Chance is in love with the title of the show. The actor says that for a change, the title is male-dominated, which is quite uncommon in Indian television. “It’s quite unique as normally all the titles are to do with saas, bahu, devrani or jethani. This is the first time that it is the male protagonist who justifies the title,” he says.
The actor, who plays the role of Harman Batra on the show, says he doesn’t relate much to his character. “He has a lot of shades. He is very greedy and mean. He always wants things to be done at any cost and is very manipulative. I have no quality like that. I am very simple in real life and I don’t scheme. So, I don’t relate to the character of Harman at all,” says Jiten, who has been part of shows such as Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Devo Ke Dev Mahadev, Sasural Genda Phool, Rishta Likhenge Hum Naya and Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki.
However, he loves being part of the show. “Every day on the set is interesting. It’s amazing to work with these kids. On screen, there is enmity but off-screen, there is a very lovely bond shared by everyone. Whenever they see me, they wish me by my character name and go like, ‘Good Morning Harman uncle’. There is a very healthy competition between them,” he says.
Ask him how is feels to work with Full House Media, and he says, “Actually, it’s nice working with them. They are very non-interrupting people except when there is a necessity. They are always there to help you out. We are very lucky to have such people around us.”
