Some filmmakers have their special innate and unique ability to make different genres of cinema and hence the audiences always await their films eagerly. After making his debut with ‘Canvas’, Shivdarshan alias Shibu Sable is now all set to come up with a comedy suspense thriller called ‘Lagi Toh Chhagi’.
Shibu Sable has produced ‘Lagi Toh Chhagi’, with Deepti Vichare, Swati Fadtare and Ajit Patil. It is the third film for Shivdarshan, who is following the tradition of Padmashri Shahir Sable. The Sable family journey from “Maharashtrachi Lokdhara” till today has kept the interest of the audiences alive and because of this; the film will reach greater heights a far as its music is concerned. Shahir Sable’s son and Shibu’s father Devdutt Sable has composed the music for the film with music director Anurag Godbole. A song written and composed like the one written and composed 40 years ago. Shivdarshan and his Brother Hansraj have written the subject.
The subject revolves around a young man, played by Abhijeet Satam, who is trouble ridden in today’s society. Shibu has always been fascinated by screenplays which stray from the beaten track. Through the medium of Cinema, Shibu has always tried to convey something tangible instead of just setting out to entertain. Shibu says, “Lagi Toh Chhagi’ is also a step in that direction as it is a comedy suspense thriller. Thrill is an insuperable component of cinema and whatever be the genre of cinema, it is inevitable that the screenplay should have thrill. I am sure that the story will be able to keep the audience hooked to the edge of their seats till the end.”
Besides Abhijeet, the film also stars Nikita Giridhar, Ravinder Singh Bakshi, Milind Ukey, Yogesh Soman, Asit Reddiz, Shaila Kanekar, Raju Bavdekar, Sagar Atlekar, Mahesh Subhedar, Akshay Bhosle and Surendar Pal. The film also has a strikingly different song written by Devdutta Sable and Magesh Kangane. The costumes have been designed by the national award winning Sachin Lovelekar while Apoorva Motiwale-Sahay and Ashish Mhatre have edited it. Pradeep Khanvilkar, as the DOP has made it a point to keep all his frames beautiful right from the title track till the end by shooting the film in various angles in Goa, Mumbai and Pune in different locations.
