DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS is Hollywood’s version of two earlier films based on the same premise: Francis Veber’s hit French film LE DÎNER DE CONS (The Dinner Game) and closer home, Bollywood’s hit BHEJA FRY. The first product to come out from the DreamWorks-Reliance Big Entertainment alliance, the film is out on DVD & VCD.
DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS boasts of an ensemble cast that includes the funniest actors. Jay Roach, whose previous credit includes Meet the Parents & Meet the Fockers, has directed the film and Paul Rudd (‘Friends’ series), Steve Carell (40 Year Old Virgin) and Zach Galifianakis (Hangover) star in the film.
DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS tells the story of Tim (Paul Rudd), a guy on the verge of having it all. The only thing standing between him and total career success is finding the perfect guest to bring to his boss’ annual dinner for extraordinary people, an event where the winner of the evening is the one who brings the most eccentric character as his guest. Enter Barry (Steve Carell), a guy with a passion for dressing mice up in tiny outfits to recreate great works of art.
