Prana is a Sanskrit word for life force or energy. Prana Paint & Flow is a unique sensitizing approach developed by Indian choreographer Ashley Lobo to explore movement through connectivity, yoga, breath and touch to help the dancer go deeper within. Sensitizing the dancer’s awareness to breathe and sensation becomes the focal point of the technique, and instrumental in allowing movement or dance to appear.
Various exercises from meditations to experiential exercises with all surfaces from floor to air to skin are used to get the dancer closer to accepting themselves fully and activate Prana flow. This approach encourages the individual to allow movement so that the body can create its own art, something that is unique and personal. The key in Prana Paint & Flow™ is to listen to the body rather than tell it, to allow rather than to create.
He chose to be busy with Bollywood dance direction and organizing international dance shows representing India, and has not been a judge for many reality shows, though was one of the three judges for India’s Dancing Superstar on Star Plus.
