Make-up Man Santosh Gilbile debuts in Bollywood with MANIKARNIKA

Renown make-up man of Marathi films and theater Santosh Gilbile debuts in Bollywood with MANIKARNIKA.

Santosh started his career as an actor in plays. But in short span of time he understood that acting is not his cup of tea. Once when he went to watch a play, he saw his friend doing make-up of the artists. Santosh also stepped in as make-up man starting with children’s plays. Then there was tome of looking back. His journey went on from plays to many Marathi films.

Santosh worked for films like Killa, Ek Hazarachi Note, Ringan, Chi. Va. Chi. Sau. Ka., Shala, Rakshas, Salaam, Youngrad, Babu Band Bajaa and many more. He won many awards for his art.

Santosh also worked as Make-up Designer. He says, “There is difference between doing make-up and designing make-up. Make-up designing is very challenging as you have to make the actor what writer-director has picture in their mind. Secondly Theater and films are two very different mediums. You have to be more careful while working for films because camera shows your work closely.”

About debut Bollywood film Santosh says, “MANIKARNIKA was very challenging film as it is period film as well as biopic. I enjoyed working for my debut Hindi film.”
