KBC auditions on Sony Entertainment Television kick started from 1st September

Over 5 million people participated in the first phase and registered themselves through SMSes when the registration process was opened by Mr. Amitabh Bachchan himself on Sony Entertainment Television. Till date 1233 winning registrations have been shortlisted from a phenomenal response from every nook & corner of India. The audition process is divided into two segments – classroom test followed by personality test. The audition process is spread across six cities – Lucknow, Nagpur, Ahmedabad, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai.

Speaking about the auditions, Ajit Thakur, EVP and Business Head, ‘Sony Entertainment Television’ said, “As a channel, we have persistently evolved to provide a superlative television experience to all our viewers. Kaun Banega Crorepati is a show for the common man. A platform that gives each Indian the prospect of making it to the hot seat. KBC Audition is probably the biggest “Joint Entrance Exam” in India where successful registrants from across the length and breadth of the country, from different socio-economic backgrounds will compete to get an opportunity of a lifetime –sit on the hot seat opposite India’s iconic superstar – Mr. Amitabh Bachchan and WIN a life changing amount . We felt that auditions are the best way to get the final contestant who represents the cross-section of Indian population.”

KBC will be produced once again by, BIG Synergy, the Siddhartha Basu-led production house that began the TV quizzing culture in the country.

Speaking about the latest season of KBC Siddhartha Basu says, “The response to the registration has been terrific, and now it’s time for the next set of tests to determine the final contestants who can aspire to be the next Aam Aadmi Crorepati in the first phase of KBC.”
