I do not want to get molded in one character : Karan Sagoo

Karan Sagoo, from London With Love is very popular model. He did cameo in TV serials, YRF’s super hit BBB and also won ‘Making The Cut Season 1’. His next film FROM SYDNEY WITH LOVE is releasing this Friday 31 August. GLAMGOLD met the handsome dude to talk about the film.

GG) Tell us about your background.

KS) My family lives in London. My grandfather was also into acting but then he started a restaurant there. My father is doing property business. For years I was also working with Dad while college days. My Mom’s family stays in Punjab. We use to come every year To Punjab in childhood.

GG) When did you think of taking acting as career?

KS) I did not want to do 9 to 5 job. I use to do stage shows, plays in school and college. So I decided to make career in acting. I came to India with my cousin. I have no connection in Bollywood so started networking here.

GG) How did your career take off?

KS) I started with modeling. First was Nokia, then worked for big brands like Raymond, Godrej, Arial etc. I did guest appearance in Yash Raj’s TV serials ‘Khotey Sikke’ and ‘Rishta.com’. I also did cameo in ‘Band Bajaa Baaraat’.

GG) How was your struggle period?

KS) I faced problems but never gave up.

GG) How did you get FROM SYDNEY WITH LOVE?

KS) In February 2010 I got a call from Pramod Films. I met Prateek, he narrated the story. When I read script and my character I liked it very much and gave audition.

GG) Tell us about your character.

KS) I am playing Suhail Syed, a rich munda of rich father, studying at University of New South Wales. All the girls are mad after him. Not a single girl refuses his proposal or friendship. But then comes Megha from India, having a middle class background. Woh usko ghaas nahi dalati. Suhail tries to patio her but…

GG) What preparations you did to get into the character of the skin?

KS) I have to take out little from real life what I am like humbleness, spirituality and had to add meanness, arrogance to the character…

GG) How was your experience working with Prateek?

KS) Wonderful. He knows exactly what he wants. He is very good observer. As an actor also he is superb.

GG) What message the film gives?

KS) Never forget Indian tradition, culture and principals.

GG) Why you are not accepting roles for TV Serials?

KS) I do not want to get molded in one character workings for months. I keep on working hard. I will get what I deserve.
