I Am She contestant Himangini Singh Yadu crowned as the Miss Asia Pacific 2012

The crowd rose up in unison with a thunderous applause as I Am She contestant who represented India – Himangini Singh Yadu, was crowned the Miss Asia Pacific 2012. The I AM She protegee was crowned in a glittering ceremony on Saturday evening.

Ecstatic about her victory, Himangini Singh Yadu said, “ This is a dream come true ! All the hard work, time and effort that my mentors have put in with me has paid off ! I am extremely thankful to the entire I AM She team and Sushmita Sen, who have given me this opportunity and also prepared me for the international pageant. I couldn’t have done it without them! I am extremely thrilled at making them and India proud!”

Delighted at the win, Sushmita Sen, Founder, I AM SHE, said, “We did it! The entire team is extremely happy and very proud of Himangini for winning the international title. My heartfelt congratulations to ‘I AM SHE’ contestant Himangini Singh for winning ‘Miss Asia Pacific World 2012’ in Korea. She has so beautifully represented India and won us back that sweet taste of victory!!!

She further added, “Himangini also becomes the first ever ‘I AM SHE’ contestant to win a prestigious International Title since we initiated ‘I AM SHE’ competition in 2010. Himangini Singh Yadu will assume her responsibilities as Miss Asia Pacific World 2012 from today and will be off on an international tour for the next one week.

A BCA graduate from Indore’s International Institute of Professional Studies, Himangini, has trained at the Armed Trained Police Center (Indore) and won sports competitions at the amateur level. Himangini was crowned Miss Indore in 2006 and has since walked the ramp at fashion shows. She was chosen to participate in I AM SHE pageant and was selected to represent India at Miss Asia Pacific 2012. After her selection, she was given rigorous training, mentored and groomed on all aspects so that she could be a confident candidate for the international pageant.
