HT media launched a coffee table book on print advertising titled ‘The Magic of Print’ which was graced by Alyque Padamsee. The Magic of Print was followed by the HT Brunch dialogues. Hindustan Times Brunch launched the second edition of HT Brunch Dialogues themed, The Changing Face of the Indian Heroine. This edition hosted an inimitable cast and a jaw-dropping mix of the past and present – Kareena Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, Sharmila Tagore, Madhur Bhandarkar, Rajkumar Gupta (No One Killed Jessica) and Siddharth Roy Kapur at Taj Lands End, Bandra, Mumbai.
The first round of HT Brunch Dialogues kick started with Madhur Bhandarkar, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Raj Kumar Gupta in conversation about the filmmaker’s role in portraying the Indian female lead. The conversation focused on the dramatic shift in female roles on the silver screen, the change from the stereotypical, running-around-trees character to a much more confident character who is in control of her life and destiny.
A short musical interlude was followed by the second round of HT Brunch Dialogues. This round witnessed a truly remarkable artist from yesteryear’s Indian cinema – Sharmila Tagore. There was an incredible & awe-inspiring chat with the super-heroines of today, Kareena Kapoor and Karishma Kapoor. The discussion revolved around the way things have changed (or stayed the same) for the Hindi film heroine. With the release of Madhur Bhandarkar and Kareena Kapoor’s much awaiting film Heroine right around the corner, the discussion couldn’t get bigger than this!
HT Brunch Dialogues led by Vir Sanghvi was all in all an interesting trilogy. The emcee of the events was Maria Goretti. A Clever Conversation set the pace for the evening with cinema; Live Performance by Shilpa Rao and Meiyang Chang and finally, some Premium Indulgence in fine spirits and good food.
