Sugam Chitra presentation, producer Mohan Pimpale’s Marathi film HE MILAN SAUBHAGYACHE won Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the ‘Best Regional Film of the Year’. The awards were announced on Wednesday and the film’s entire crew attended the function at Ravindra Natya Mandir in Mumbai.
Mr. Pimple expressed his happiness saying, “WE had some great films releasing in 2011, like Balgandharva, Dambis, Pratibimb, Swarajya and so on. The competition was so tough that the thought of winning this award did not cross my mind. It was an extremely pleasant surprise for me.”
Shot in Kolhapur and Ratnagiri, HE MILAN SAUBHAGYACHE released in October 2011 is a triangular love story, the treatment given to it is different. The film stars Milind Gawali, Dipali Sayyad, Aniket Kelkar, Deepa Chapekar, Sanjay Mohite, Reena Jadhav, Prajakta Kelkar, Mohan Pimpale, Saini Rubi, Pratiksha Jadhav and Priya Marathe.
Lyrics are penned by Prashant Surve, Dr. Shrikant Narule and Yuvraj Patil. Music is given by Ramesh Roshan. Anupama Deshpande, Swapnil Bandodkar, Sadhana Sargam and Kumar Shanu had rendered their voices for this film. Kumar Shanu has sung for Marathi film for the first time.
Producer-actor Mohan Pimpale adds, “The film is all about love and sacrifice. I feel in today’s world of Facebook and cellphones, love’s essence is being lost somewhere. There is an urgent need of introspection about our ideas and where they are headed, in the blind rat race that all of us have got involved into. The film will shake your whole thought process about love.”
