The talented young actor Edward Sonnenblick who is featuring in two of this year’s most interesting projects, ‘Firangi’ and ALT Balaji’s much talked about web series, Bose, recently gave the audience and makers of The Kapil Sharma show a glimpse of his immense talent.
The actor/comedian was promoting ‘Firangi’ on a special promotional episode of his co-star Kapil Sharma’s show for Sony TV, where according to sources from the set, Edward’s performance was easily the most delightful surprise of the evening. While chatting with the whole cast, Kapil requested Edward to do some stand-up comedy for the audience. For the next ten minutes Edward completely owned the room, leaving everyone in splits with his brilliant humor, and shocking one and all with his fluent Hindi. His sharp wit combined with his charmingly American accented Hindi proved so deadly that everyone from technicians to audience fell of their seats laughing. In fact this Firangi’s one-of-a-kind act was even called the highlight of the show by many, including cast and crew.
Edward’s recent performances have already been having a big impact. His just released web series, Bose, has won him accolades and his performances in the ‘Firangi’ trailer and ‘Oye Firangi’ song have left audiences hungry for more. Fans worldwide are now waiting to see more of Edward and are looking forward to the release of Firangi.
Overwhelmed with the appreciation, Edward says “It’s thrilling when people love your work. And for me, nothing matches the rush of getting laughs from a live audience. After spending a decade in the industry doing mostly serious historical characters, it was an absolute pleasure to be doing what I love the most: stand-up comedy, and that too alongside India’s comedy King, Kapil Sharma. He is such a phenomenal talent. I had the most amazing experience shooting for Firangi with him, and now being on his show has made me a fan for life. This makes me want to continue getting my comedy keedas out more than ever.” Hmm…we can’t help but wonder if we’ll be treated to a new fresh twist in the cast of Kapil’s show when it returns (soon, we hope!).
