It was Dwarka Milk Initiative to pay a Tribute to the ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh. Music lovers in Delhi were treated to an enthralling evening of ghazals as Ghazal maestro Pankaj Udhas rendered popular numbers like ‘Sharaab cheez hi aisi hai’ and ‘Chitthi aayi hai’ while paying tribute to late Jagjit Singh.
The musical evening was organized by Prayas, a national level organization committed to the cause of marginalized children. At the event, Pankaj Udhas marked his fond remembrance to the ghazal king by rendering a series of heartwarming ghazals.
Ghazals like ‘Niklo na benaqab’, ‘Chandi jaisa rang hai tera’ and ‘Chitthi na koi sandesh’ rendered by Pankaj Udhas in his mellifluous voice earned a standing ovation at the musical evening where Tourism minister Subodh Kant Sahai was the chief guest.
Lok Sabha MP and Prayas president Shatrughan Sinha also graced the evening. On the occasion, Prayas, in association with ITDC, also launched “Ashok-Prayas Project” a CSR project with two components ‘Hunar Se Rozgar’ and ‘Community-based ITDC-Prayas Project’.
Another project launched was ‘Dwarka-Prayas Educational Project’ for the unreached and marginalized in partnership with the leading milk manufacturers of Maharashtra, ‘DwarkaMilk’.
The evening was organized at the initiative of noted ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas, who is also deeply associated with Prayas and the common cause to support the marginalized children and communities across the country.
