Amitabh Bachchan launched “Shri Hanuman Chalisa” in his unique baritone

Amitabh Bachchan launched “Shri Hanuman Chalisa” in his unique baritone on Sunday, October 9th in Mumbai.

Presented by AB Corp & Veecon Music and Entertainment, the “Shri Hanuman Chalisa” has been recorded in Mr Bachchan’s voice along with 20 other renowned playback singers and artists from the Indian film industry. The music has been composed by Aadesh Shrivastava, under the Veecon Music label.

This is the first time in India that a single song CD featuring only one track sung by 21 singers is being released.

The 20 other singers to join Amitabh Bachchan on this track are Aadesh Shrivastava, Hariharan,   Sonu Nigam, Suresh Wadkar, Abhijit, Udit Narayan, Kumar Sanu, Roopkumar Rathod, Shaan, Kailsah Kher, Mukul  Aggarwal, Manoj Tiwari, Hansraj Hans, Prasoon Joshi, Kay Kay, Sukhwinder Singh, Shankar Mahadevan, Babul Supriyo, Kunal Ganjawala and Vinod Rathod.

The project has been conceptualized by Mr. J K Shrivastava and produced by V K Shrivastava, Lalit Shrivastava and the Veecon Group. The event was executed by GS Entertainment Pvt. Ltd.

Anchored by Harish Bhimani, the event began by the unveiling of a majestic idol of Lord Hanuman with a loud Shank playing in the background. Mr Bachchan, dressed in white arrived on stage and began reciting the Hanuman Chalisa in his unique voice. Joining him on stage were Aadesh Shrivastava, Hansraj Hans, Babul Supriyo & Manoj Tiwari. The rendition was made even more enthralling with a splendid group dance performance choreographed by Shiamak Davar.

The event was attended by Mrs Jaya Bachchan, along with Mrs Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Other guests joining them were noted filmmakers Yash Chopra, Ramesh Sippy (who came with wife Kiran Juneja), Ramesh Taurani, Rakeysh Mehra, Prakash Jha, Mr N P Singh (COO, Sony Entertainment Television), Piyush Pandey, Ila Arun, lyricist Sameer and choreographer Shiamak Davar.
