Sudanshu Hukku of “Locations” initiative in its 8th edition “The World’s First Film Tourism Event”

Sudarshan Hukku ‘s “Locations “initiative was worth accolades  “The World’s First Film Tourism Event”. It is the only event of its kind in the world based on the concept ‘Films are Catalysts to Tourism’. The two day event held in Mumbai in its 8th Edition. The inauguration was done by Sushama Shiromanee with lighting of diya with various stalls from Thailand, Canada, Fiji, France etc on display.  Sudanshu Hukku was busy whole day organising the nitty gritties  and meeting and greeting delegates.

Locations was launched by Sudhanshu Hukku with an Ad in Variety Cannes Special –d“in May 2003 with a vision to create a single point structure to bridge the film and tourism industry. Since then it has flourished and travelled to 2010 in its 8th edition. A location is a pioneer in the field of film tourism, conducting exhibitions, conferences and “Locations” Awards on an annual basis. It successfully creates a Niche of Film Tourism.

The 2 day event comprised of exhibition, conference, presentation, informal gathering and above all the awards are being successfully conducted on an annual basis since last 8 years. It had been witnessed by Indian state tourism, various Embassies, Consulates, Film commission, tourism boards of various countries. Besides that, there has been active participation by the local entities like the line producers, technicians, tours and travel operator, hospitality owners, fashion houses, agencies, cruise owners and so on in the last eight years.

The foreign delegates were enthusiastic for an association with Bollywood. The evening awards ceremony was a hyped event as it was about ‘Locations’ and the entire industry thronged as Locations is an integral part of our film making and viewing. Sajid Nadiadwala received an award for shooting his film in foreign locations specifically for his film Housefull. Ashutosh Gowarikar gave life time achievement award to Surinder Kapoor. Samir Kochhar was called to give an award. Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s ‘London Dreams’ received the best location award for Indian film. Barbara Mori received best actress award and Salman Khan for best actor in foreign location. ‘Kites’ got award for aesthetic presentation of foreign location.

Many celebrities were present on the occasion. Yuvika Chaudhary was in green outfit. Vishal Bhonsale looked tough as ever and was loving his Bollywood connect. Vinita Menon, Umesh Pherwani, Shifanajali Shekhar, Dharmesh Tiwari, Babubhai Thiba and many more have graced the event. Avesh Dadlani walked in late from his fashion show rehearsals.
